Sneak Preview for March

On a much lighter note....

Guess who turns ONE this coming month?! Time really does fly, and we are having the best time with this sweet little girl. I could seriously eat her up. This is the picture that is on the invitation to a small party we are having in Dothan with family and a few friends coming up in March.

Layla Grace

I came upon this little girl, Layla Grace, on Facebook yesterday when looking at a website store. I can't stop thinking about her and her family this weekend. I read about her journey, and it looks like her fight will end very soon. I think about all of the frustrating and impatient moments around here on an almost daily basis. This little girl has stopped me in my tracks and put things in perspective. As a Mother, I am heartbroken for their family. Their family pictures taken last week are beautiful. Hug, kiss, and love on your your little ones even more than usual today.

Overnight

Anna Kate has gone from baby to the "T" word overnight. (T as in toddler). She has discovered what her legs are made for and is attempting to walk with help. She wanted to ride on all of Brooks' vehicles at the farm today. She has no fear.

Day Job

I don't talk much about my "day" job on here. Who really wants to hear all about that anyway? But it is a big part of my life, so in case you don't know me personally, here's a link to an article written in the paper today about what I do during the day.

A staff writer has a column she writes every week called On The Job. She saw our billboard in town, and called to see if I would be interested in talking about my career.

One major point we didn't include in the article is the balancing act of working outside of the home as a mother. Work/family/me time is a constant balancing act, especially with two children. We will have soccer practices and other extracirricular activities in the near future so I am very thankful I can adjust my schedule according to what is going on outside of the office. Currently, I have three "short" days each week leaving the office by 3:00 two days and 12:00 on Fridays, and off all day every other Friday. And somewhere in there 2 workouts at the gym and 2-3 days of jogging gets smushed into the already busy schedule. I have found I must create time for myself whether it be 5:45 in the morning doing my workout at the gym before everyone gets up, or squeezing a quick 20 minute jog before starting dinner. It's important physically AND mentally.

I am thankful not only to have a job----a career; I'm really thankful it is something I truly enjoy!

SNOW!!

We...or should I say I...enjoyed the snow today. Brooks went outside with me to play for a little while and Andrew stayed in with Anna Kate. She has a runny nose so we didn't want to chance her getting sick. Brooks wanted to make a snowman so I proceeded with the task, and he helped for about 5 minutes. Then he said, "I think I'm ready to go inside". So he bailed on me. I had already made the bottom part so I figured might as well finish making him.

HAPPY SNOW DAY!!!
